The Digital Canvas
26 JAN - 9 FEB
London
THE DIGITAL CANVAS is an international group show presenting twelve renowned international artists working with digital mediums such as CGR, animation, GIFs and more.
We are excited to present THE DIGITAL CANVAS in partnership with The NFT Gallery. This group exhibition showcases a curated selection of digital artworks by twelve international artists. This exhibition seeks to examine the expanded contemporary art world through the evolution of digital mediums as canvases.
A canvas is commonly known as a plain cloth which artists paint on, the definition of it has been historically tied to more traditional art practices. However, digital art practices are older than we think, in the 1980's with the development of paint programs, pioneering digital artists like Hardol Cohen, started using computers as their canvas.
Since then, artists have been using computers and technology to create artworks, and develop art practices which are entirely digital. THE DIGITAL CANVAS seeks to examine this by presenting works of innovative artists redefining what the term canvas means in our contemporary art world of today.
